Most of us believe Meditation to be a magical cure to our mental afflictions as well as physical ailments. So what is meditation actually??
We are all struggling at some level to find a foothold in life where we can just be or be at peace & harmony with ourselves at least. Have you paused to consider why is it so?? Introspect?? At level one answers will be because of my job, my kids, illness, my spouse, my finances, etc…
Go deeper, see what you find?? You might still find your mind surrounded by your supposed problems.
Go even deeper??? You are introspecting why you are not at peace?? Do you actually have a problem now??Answer would be “No” not at the moment. So you are either in past or the future and not the present. When we are constantly living in the past we are carrying an unwanted baggage, not needed now which weigh & slow us down. Similarly when we are constantly worried or excited about the future we become anxious and things are just haphazard. But if we are just here, concentrating & channelizing all are energies in the present and to phrase it easy, giving your heart & mind to the job in hand at present, life would be effortless. It would definitely take care of the future and past has little relevance as it’s done & dusted with. In simplest term Meditation is also being in the present and feeling joy of being in the moment.
Most of us believe Meditation to be a magical cure to our mental afflictions as well as physical ailments. So what is meditation actually?? Picture which comes to our mind is people sitting crossed legged on the floor concentrating for inner peace. Well is that all meditation is about?? To start with may be but it is beyond & much more. It is beyond mind & body, intellect & ego, when we turn our attention inwards to our spirit and are one with the universal consciousness or the divine. After all Yoga does mean the union with the divine.
